Abstract
Avifauna are important for the ecosystem as they play important role as scavengers, seed dispersal agents and predators of insects pest and an important indicator to evaluate different habitat both qualitatively and quantitatively. An avifaunal diversity assessment was carried out for a short period of about one month at Deekshabhoomi the holy place, during the Dusshera Festival from October 2014 to November 2014. A total of 64 species belonging to 12 Orders and 37 families were recorded.
