Abstract

From 1960s till now numerous studies were taken in industrialized countries and those surveys confirm the antagonistic effects of air pollution on human fitness. In order to encounter rigorous environmental regulation there is need of fast track ensnaring approach that shrinks those emissions. Conferring to literature survey experimental line of attack for adsorbing toxic pollutants from emission is the best choice. From various physico- chemical test and characteristics of various pollutants from three major types of industrialized adsorbent. Oxygen based sorbent called molecular sieve and carbon based sorbent called activated carbon can be opted for the study. Comparative study of adsorbents was made and find out a particular type of molecular sieve 4A and activated carbon 1000IV compounds. Based on that a combination device was made with extended surface area through sieves. From this device field work has been done in order to find the emission control in both gasoline and diesel system through changes in their CO2, O2, HC, CO, HSU levels. The results show the effective trapping of these pollutants on the surface as well as in their internal pore opening. We also find the efficiency will increase drastically as we increase the reaction area on the surface of various sorbents.
