Abstract
To clarify if changing the diet helps to prevent development of diabetes, the current study aimed to provide the immunomodulatory effect of cinnamon (CN) in improving the histological picture in the pancreatic tissue in diabetic rats. This improving picture were visualized in the well-organized islets containing increased number of ? cells, ? cells appeared with normal chromatin distribution and normal cellular population. CN administration to alloxan diabetic rats reduced serum glucose, triglyceride, total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol levels and boosting the immune system by increasing HDLcholesterol levels and insulin expression. In conclusion, the regular intake of CN in the daily diet may show many immunological benefits.
