Abstract

New Ni(II) complex was synthesized from 4-phenoxy-2,6-dichloro-straizine and 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine in the presence of hydrated metal salt, NiCl2.6H2O in 1,4-dioxane-methanol medium. Before the synthesis of the complex, 4-phenoxy-2,6-dichloro-s-traizine was prepared according to the procedure reported. The complex synthesized was characterized on the bases of chemical analysis, magnetic susceptibility, uv-vis spectroscopy and conductivity data. Based on the data obtained octahedral geometry is proposed.
