ROLE OF SPIRITUALITY ON PERFECTIONISM.

Abstract

In the present investigation am attempt was made to study the role of spirituality on perfectionism among graduate, post graduate and research scholars. A sample of 120 participants was drawn from Faculty of Social Science, AMU, by using convenience sampling technique. The Spirituality Attitude Scale (SAS) developed by Akbar Husain, Musaddique Jahan, Nishat , R. N. Siddiqui, and Akram (2002) Department of Psychology, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh and Almost Perfect Scale-Revised (APS-R) by Slaney and his colleagues (1996) was used for the data collection. For the data analysis Pearson’s product moment correlation, Simple Linear Regression and One way ANOVA was administered. The findings of the present study show that spirituality and perfectionism positively and significantly correlated between all the three groups i.e. Graduate, Post Graduate and Research Scholars. It was also found that these all groups significantly differ in terms of spirituality as well as perfectionism.
