Abstract
ReactionofZinc(II)acetatewithSchiffsbasesderivedfromthecondensationofbenzaldehyde or indole-3-carboxyaldehyde with (2S,5R,6R)-6-Amino-3,3-dimethyl-7-oxo-4-thia-1-azabicyclo[3.2.0]heptane-2-carboxylicacid(6-AminopenicillanicAcid)in1:1molar ratio gave a new series of Zinc(II) complexes. The coordination behavior ofSchiffsbasestowardsZincatomhasbeeninvestigatedbyelementalanalysis,conductancemeasurements,molecularweightdeterminations,IR,UVand1HNMRspectralstudies.
