Abstract

Jet ventilation is a technique that permits gas delivery with low current volume using high velocity through a small diameter injector. It can be administered using different techniques. It is a prospective study carried out in the operating theater of the Mohamed V military training hospitalincluding patients who have undergone suspension laryngoscopy for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. All patients were subglottically ventilated by high frequency jet ventilation. The anesthesia was induced and maintained by propofol and remifentanil in TIVA mode, intubation and surgical difficulties, hemodynamic variations as well as respiratory complications and post-operative incidents were noted. The purpose of our work was to evaluate the interest of jet ventilation during suspension laryngoscopy procedures.
