L IMPORTANCE DE LA GRAMMAIRE POUR LA REDACTION DE TRAVAUX UNIVERSITAIRES EN FRANCAIS : ENJEUX, DIFFICULTES ET STRATEGIES PEDAGOGIQUES

Grammar plays a central role in the quality and credibility of academic work written in French. Far from being a mere set of prescriptive rules, it is a cognitive tool that structures thought, clarifies arguments, and ensures precision of meaning. This paper examines the fundamental functions of grammar in academic writing,analyses the main difficulties encountered by students, and proposes concrete strategies to strengthen their grammatical competence. A key observation from teaching practice is also discussed: many students, convinced of their linguistic proficiency, neglect grammatical revision thereby making basic mistakes that undermine the quality and credibility of their written and spoken work.
