Abstract
Grammar is one of the essential components of any natural language. While not paramount, it is indispensable. This study aims to contribute to strengthening learners’ training in Spanish as a Foreign Language grammar. A quantitative, corpus - based approach was designed, followed by observation of classroom learning situations. Data collection during the 2024 academic year included 80 participants from public secondary schools in Benin. Of these, 40 belonged to CEG1 Missérété in Porto-Novo, in the Ouémè Department, while the other half came from CEG2 Glazoué, in the Zou Department. The analysis of the data obtained shows that the participants experience many difficulties with basic Spanish grammar and, therefore, truly need didactic support focused on acquiring fundamental concepts in order to achieve their mission once they become teachers.
