Dance has historically functioned not only as an artistic practice but also as a significant social activity that contributes to the development and transformation of communities. Across different societies, dance has been used as a medium of communication, celebration, and cultural preservation. In contemporary contexts, dance is increasingly recognized as a powerful tool that promotes social inclusion, community participation, and emotional well‑being. This paper examines the role of dance in social upliftment and community development by exploring how dance strengthens cultural identity, encourages participation among diverse social groups, and supports the empowerment of marginalized communities. Through an analytical discussion of cultural practices, community programs, and educational initiatives, the paper argues that dance can play a meaningful role in promoting social harmony, cultural continuity, and sustainable development within communities.
