This study applies a resource dependency perspective to analyze accurate information and explain how payment types affect groups of employees in critical positions that influence firm performance. Situational factors influencing the degree of dependency of groups of employees in critical positions on management have been identified. Propositions predicting specific payment types subject to various conditions have been developed. The implications for further research utilizing a resource dependency perspective are discussed.
