AUGMENTED REALITY AND THREE-DIMENSIONAL TECHNOLOGIES IN COLORECTAL SURGERY: CURRENT APPLICATIONS AND FUTURE PERSPECTIVES. A NARRATIVE REVIEW

Abstract

Introduction:-Recent advances in augmented reality (AR) and three-dimensional (3D) technologies have created new opportunities to improve visualization, preoperative planning, and intraoperative decision-making in colorectal surgery. Objective:-To provide a comprehensive overview of the current evidence regarding the clinical applications of augmented reality and three-dimensional technologies in colorectal surgery. Materials and Methods:-A narrative review of the literature was performed through a structured search of PubMed/MEDLINE and Scopus,including studies evaluating the use of AR and 3D technologies in colorectal surgical practice.
