THE EFFECT OF THE CONTINUOUS CARE MODEL ON SELF-PRACTICES AND QUALITY OF LIFE AMONG PREECLAMPTIC WOMEN

Abstract

Background: Preeclampsia is a complex maternal health condition that requires ongoing support, effective education, and active involvement of women in managing their health. Implementing a structured Continuous Care Model may help overcome gaps in healthcare delivery, enhance womens self-care abilities, and support better management of health needs throughout the course of the condition. However, its effectiveness in women with preeclampsia has not been well established. Aim: Wasto evaluate the effect of the continuous care model on self-practice and quality of life among preeclamptic women. Methods: A quasi-experimental design with purposive sample 100 preeclamptic women was used. The present study was conducted in the outpatient clinics at Ain Shams Maternity Hospital, Egypt. Four validated tools used in the study a structured interviewing questionnaire, womens knowledge questionnaire regarding preeclampsia, self- care reported practices questionnaire regarding preeclampsia, and world health organization quality of life-brief version.
