Abstract
This study focuses on the thermomechanical characterization of adobe bricks made from cattail. The objective is to design test specimens with a cattail content ranging from 0 to 2%. The properties measured include density, compressive strength, thermal conductivity, and thermal effusivity. The density of the bricks studied ranges from 1705.45 to 1878.85 kg/m3. The adobe bricks tested mechanically exhibit a compressive strength at 28 days ranging from 2.92 to 5.56 MPa, thus exceeding the standard of 2MPa and meeting the standard requirements for earthen masonry construction.
