Abstract
Ultra-Fast Charging (UFC) can meet the rapid refueling demand for Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) but only to the extent that BEV battery systems can accommodate charging acceptance, thermal effects, conversion losses, and the BEV charging infrastructure. This study quantitatively analyzed the literature and standards for charging from 2020 2025,employing a constrained standardized Monte Carlo simulation. In 2,500 simulated scenarios ranging from 10-80% State of Charge (SoC) at 50, 150, 250, 350 and 400 kW charging rates for battery packs sized at 55-110 kWh, the average charging time for the battery packs used in the scenarios, decreased from 71.37 - 10.78 minutes at 50 kW to 13.91 - 1.91 minutes at 400 kW (Welch F= 4561.37, p<0.001).
