Abstract
Background: Kikkisa is a pregnancy associated dermatological condition described in Ayurveda and clinically resembles Striae gravidarum. It is characterised by linear skin changes associated with Vaivarnya (discolouration), Kandu (itching), Vidaha (burning sensation) and Rekha Swarupa Twak Sankocha (linear skin markings and contraction). The present study evaluated Tiktadi Ghrita Ointment through pharmaceutical, analytical and clinical investigations. Aim: To evaluate the pharmaceutico-analytical characteristics and clinical efficacy of Tiktadi Ghrita Ointment in Kikkisa with special reference to Striae gravidarum and to compare its clinical effect with Karveer Taila.
