Abstract
Water, precious and vital, is an essential good for life and health. This constitutes one of the natural riches of Benin because it is no longer the founding element but daily and which we cannot do without. The present aims to analyze the quality of the drinking water of the populations in the Commune of Dangbo. The methodological approach adopted revolves around the collection of data on the statistics of hydraulic structures, data on the quality of water taken at the level of the various sources of water supply to the population according to the physico-chemical and bacteriological parameters. Thus, samples were taken at the level of seven (07) sites distributed in the districts of the Municipality. The techniques of direct observations were used and the analyzes made in the laboratory. The municipality of Dangbo is facing a drinking water crisis due to the failure of hydraulic infrastructure, forcing the population to use untreated and potentially dangerous sources of water, such as wells and rivers. The analysis on the quality of drinking water revealed that most of the existing structures are out of order, which leads to contamination of the water consumed.
