Abstract
Like many municipalities in Niger, the Urban Municipality of Agadez faces numerous challenges and constraints in terms of resource development in the tertiary sector. The main challenges are: formalizing and modernizing the sectors; making products competitive; improving the tax base; creating the conditions for the resumption of tourist activities; and attracting and convincing businesses to set up shop in order to contribute to local development. Faced with these challenges, the municipal authorities of Agadez are pursuing several avenues of solution, including promoting the crafts, tourism, and hospitality sectors. This research addresses territorial marketing as a strategy for promoting resources. The research question is: to what extent does territorial marketing contribute to the promotion of resources and local development? The objective of the research is to analyze the role of territorial marketing in promoting resources for local development, through a case study of the urban commune of Agadez. This research is based on a qualitative approach combining documentary research and individual and group interviews. A total of 40 people were surveyed, selected on the basis of convenience and judgment.
