Abstract
Nigerias chronic electricity supply deficit has pushed many large institutions to develop captive, embedded generation to guarantee reliability, and religious camps that host very large periodic congregations are among the most demanding of such users.This study assesses the operational performance of a 25.8 MW captive gas turbine power plant -comprising three units, GT1 (5.2 MW), GT2 (5.6 MW) and GT3 (15 MW), fuelled by piped natural gas through a pressureboosting system -that supplies the Redemption City of God (RCCG Redemption Camp), Ogun State, Nigeria, a faith-based community of more than 20,000 resident consumers that periodically hosts congregations exceeding two million people.
