Abstract
Early Hindi stories, along with being sensitive to the environment, also inspire awareness of existence and its conservation. They convey the message that the relationship between human beings and nature is one of mutual dependence , and that protecting the environment is the foundation for safeguarding human life and the future. In Premchands stories, there is not only a description of natural beauty but also a philosophical portrayal of the deep relationship between human life, society, and nature. In his fiction, fields, trees, rain, rivers, animals, birds, and the rural environment appear as integral parts of life. Nature is shown as being connected with the joys, sorrows, struggles, and values of his characters.
