Abstract
Coastal safety, socio-economic well-being, and the water-resource needs on which coastline populations depend are largely governed by climate dynamics and by the management of coastal areas. This study analyses the impact of climate dynamics on socio-economic activities and natural resources in the coastal zone of Benin. The methodological approach combines documentary research, field observation, and a survey administered to 100 purposively selected individuals engaged in the targeted activities. Data analysis was carried out using the PSIR model. The results show that agricultural production, fishing, salt production, sand extraction, and tourism are the main activities of the coastal zone, and that 92% of respondents report that these activities are affected by climate dynamics.
