Abstract

Objective: To describe the frequency and profile of neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs) among primary schoolchildren with academic difficulties referred by a public screening programme, and to identify associated factors. Methods. Retrospective cross-sectional study of 121 public primary school pupils referred from January to June 2026 to 8 urban, peri-urban and rural diagnostic centres in the Marrakech region (National Initiative for Human Development). After teacher screening, pupils were assessed by a single child psychiatrist using DSM-5-TR criteria. Associated factors were analysed with logistic and linear regression.
